Service writer

The auto-shop role that takes the customer-facing call, scopes the work, and books the vehicle into the shop. The biggest single bottleneck the AI agent removes.

The service writer is the front desk of an auto shop. They take the inbound call, ask the right questions, write the estimate, line up the parts, and slot the vehicle into the bay schedule. It is a high-skill, high-pressure job, and it is the single biggest reason calls get missed during busy windows.

An AI agent does not replace the service writer's judgment, but it does pick up the calls the writer cannot reach. Booking calls, simple Q&A, status checks, and pricing requests get handled end-to-end. Anything that needs the writer's expertise gets transferred with the customer record open and the vehicle history already on the screen.

The metric the shop cares about is booked appointments per writer per day. The right AI agent lifts that number by removing the queue of routine calls the writer would otherwise have to triage.

The next call doesn’t have to go to voicemail.
